Safeguarding Policy & Alignment

CyberDIVA is built on a foundation of safety, ethics, and statutory compliance. This policy outlines our commitment to protecting the young people and professionals who use our platform.

1. Our Core Commitment

The safety and wellbeing of women, girls, and all young people are at the heart of everything we do. CyberDIVA is designed to be a "Safe Space" by design, ensuring that sensitive topics are handled with trauma-informed expertise and technical rigour.

2. Statutory Alignment (KCSIE)

Our curriculum and platform features are directly aligned with UK Department for Education guidance, specifically "Keeping Children Safe in Education" (KCSIE) and the RSHE statutory guidance.

  • Online Safety: We address the four areas of risk identified in KCSIE: Content, Contact, Conduct, and Commerce.
  • Cyberbullying: Our 'Upstander' modules provide practical, non-judgmental frameworks for peer-to-peer intervention.
  • Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG): We provide age-appropriate education on healthy relationships and digital consent.
3. Safeguarding by Design

CyberDIVA employs specific technical protocols to ensure user safety:

  • Anonymous Student IDs: We do not collect PII from students. All progress is tracked via anonymous alphanumeric IDs.
  • Trauma-Informed Content: Lessons include clear trigger warnings and safeguarding advisory notices.
  • Quick Exit Tool: Every page features a visible 'Quick Exit' button for users who need to leave the site immediately.
  • Moderated AI: Our AI discovery tools are strictly filtered to prevent the generation of harmful or inappropriate content.
4. Reporting and Disclosure

CyberDIVA is an educational tool, not an emergency service. We empower users to follow existing reporting chains:

  • The 'Uh-Oh' Rule: We encourage students to report concerns to their institution's Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
  • Signposting: We provide direct links to specialized services including Childline, CEOP, and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF).
  • Professional Training: Our specialist modules for educators include specific guidance on handling disclosures resulting from our content.

Safeguarding Governance

Our policy is reviewed annually in partnership with academic and policing contributors to ensure it reflects current best practices and emerging digital risks.
